2 Euro Commemorative Coin Portugal 2019 500th Anniversary of the first circumnavigation by Fernao De Magalhaes Portugal issued a €2 commemorative coin on 8 May 2019 marking the 500th anniversary of Ferdinand Magellan’s circumnavigation. The coin honors the Portuguese explorer and navigator and shows his portrait in the central field. The left legend reads "2019 PORTUGAL", while the right bears "1519 FERNAO DE MAGALHAES" and "CIRCUM NAVEGAÇÃO". Lower left display the mint mark "INCM" and the author credit "L.F. Abreu". The outer ring carries twelve five‑pointed stars; the issue was released in FDC and FS folders.
