Description
2 Euro Commemorative Coin Malta 2020 From Children in Solidarity Games – 2020. Malta’s 2020 commemorative €2 coin celebrates traditional children’s games and marked the final issue in the five-coin “From Children in Solidarity” programme. Its design originated in a competition for students at secondary schools, won by Ymen Riahi. The national motif brings together marbles, a spinning top, the traditional making and flying of kites, and the Maltese version of hopscotch, known locally as “passju”. Three bees flying in a circle refer to a rhyme or chant sung by Maltese children during play. Riahi created the design, while Noel Galea Bason engraved it.
